The MPower

The Challenge:
The challenge was to find a product that is not available in the United States and then create a business plan/campaign to introduce the product to American markets. Our team took the Giadora, a human powered washer and dryer designed by engineering students for use in third world countries.

The Target:
We positioned the product for American low-income families--families that feel like they are stuck in a cycle that allows them to stay afloat, but not to make any substantial positive changes to their lives.

The Solution:
Enter the MPower, the redesigned Giadora produced by General Electric (GE), which will save low-income families an average of 74% to 82% on laundry costs per year. And with 32% of their annual spending being affected by their laundry routine, the Mpower will give low-income families the ability to take better control of their lives. This will allow them to start investing in themselves, and ultimately letting them break away for the better.
